So in the last episode Scott and Eric mentioned screen protectors and I tend to agree most suck and really don’t work, bubbles under the screen, they look dirty, I never used to use them. However, I recently got one of the invisi-shield screen protectors and let me tell you that it is the best screen protector you can buy. Kind of pricy for a screen protector at about 27 dollars but, if you purchase it at best buy they apply if for you, it looks smooth, even and unnoticeable on the screen of my iPhone 4. Haven’t had any bubbles show up, I love it. So if there is one screen protector you should use if you decide the need, invisi-shield is the way to go!

Okay…. totally off the subject of anything relevant to AppSlappy, but you made the comment that Five Guys Burgers (which I love) was better than In-N-Out Burger. I had heard nothing but awesome reviews on In-N-Out Burger and I finally tried one at the location in St. George. Honestly… someone explain what is so great about these burgers? It was honestly the worst burger I’ve eaten in my life!! They only have 5 stinkin’ options on their entire menu. I got the big burger because I was starving and it was so small I couldn’t believe it. And the fries were nasty. They had no flavor. Even after adding a ton of salt they still tasted awful. It’s sad to say but I would have been more satisfied with a Carls Jr. burger than this nastiness. I just don’t get it. I was so disappointed. If you want a great burger there is this awesome little diner on the way to St. George called Larry’s and THAT was an amazing burger. Big, lots of flavor, more than 5 options, amazing fries… tell me, am I the only one who thinks In-N-Out is just plain over rated?
Hi, I was listening to one of your shows on sticher radio app on my iPhone 4 and you were talking about skype and needing an alternative if Microsoft does a Microsoft on it. ; ) Adobe Connect Professional blows skype out of the water. I use it to run the web conferences for the college I work for but that is the professional version. I do have a personal free account for the non-professional version Adobe Connect, and it is also not bad. Connect (non-professional) does not allow recording and is limited to a certain number of participants, but the professional version has certain a few paid versions and we purchased it through Clarix (a third party vendor). I would say, contact Adobe and see if you can get a thirty day free trial. I have remote presenters, hundreds of participants, PPT presentations, multiple web cam and mic inputs, and much more. I agree 100% about the quality, balance, and re-playability of Hero’s Academy.
I try many new games, but don’t play most again after 2 days.
Hero’s Academy is one of those rare games that I look forward to playing every day.
I have found another strategy, battle game that I have been playing every day for a couple of months, that elicits a similar joy.
The game is “PanzerWars”.
It is most similar to the boardgame “Risk” and here are the key features:
- You start out with 10 territories on a map of Europe and try to capture the other territories with your troops
- You play against 9 other players, a mix of real players and gamebots
- You can build defenses, factories, soldiers, or tanks inside your territories
- Strategic decisions include whom to attack, when to attack, how many troops to attack with, and whether you build defenses, factories, soldiers, or tanks.
- And similar to Hero’s Academy, every strategic decision has pros and cons to agonize over.
- My favorite part is that all actions happen in “realtime”, so your troops are moving and your factories are working even when the app is closed.
- You can check in as little as once a day or many times a day to give your troops and factories new instructions.
- Each game lasts around 7-14 days.
The game is dead simple to play, and has some nice basic graphics.
If you like Hero’s Academy, Risk, and strategy games in general then I think you will also LOVE this game!
PanzerWars is a free game but it costs $5 to upgrade your factories to the auto-build feature, a vital upgrade for frequent players.
