That way you can know how much media you bought from iTunes. The little hole next to the supposed iPod Touch, I'm guessing would be an LED flash or perhaps an indicator light to know it's on like the iSight on the portable computers? I know Jobs has backpaddled here and there with iTunes but I cannot see him allowing the subscription service (the one thing he's been set against from the beginning).
