Looks like the real deal.
The prototype was lost in a bar in Redwood City, and was sat inside a custom case which makes it look just like a 3GS from the outside, complete with custom cut-outs for reaching the new hardware controls. Apple certainly wanted to keep this one a secret. We believe that this might be the biggest leak from Apple that we have ever seen. It is also a hot-looking iPhone. I liked one headline I read on this story: “Someone At Apple Loses Job Monday Morning”
Though both Scott and Eric got a 3GS, I believe it was Scott that said the next model would be a milestone in iPhone design (like the 3G was).
