  1. To follow up on the iPod Touch location call, the Skyhook Wireless database is what they use (skyhookwireless.com). The service uses MAC addresses that have been added along with GPS coordinates. I’m not sure if all entries are manually done or if they use the iPhone to datamine for locations, but you can add your own access point to get precise locations in apps. It takes a while for your entry to show up, but for some pesky apps that REQUIRE a proper location, it’s worth waiting for…
