Noticed today that Arcade Hockey, previously reviewed on the show, and Ramp Champ are free! Get em while they’re hot.
Arcade Hockey is a rip off. What they did was change the game to have ads and lack features. If you want to get rid of the ads and activate the features, you have to buy the “pro” version via in game micro-transaction. Even worse, the people who have paid for this app on previous versions when they “upgrade” will effectively “upgrade” to this mislabeled lite version
Tom: We’re sorry about this, and are working to get Apple to change this system so that we can help remedy the situation and so that other applications making the transition to free from paid are not put in the same position. We’ve posted an explanation of the situation and our decision on our blog.
While we did remove some features from the free version, we also added many others, including the ability to listen to your iPod music and integration with OpenFeint.
Please accept our apologies and understand that there really is no good solution for iPhone developers in our position at the moment.
