Under Scott reviews, it’s actually called Mr. AahH!! (as in AahH!! I’m falling). Took me a bit to find it but I saw they have both the paid version for .99 and a lite version for free.
The name is actually Mr.AahH!! for those of you trying to find it.
Saturday, August 29th. Frogger up to $1.99. Poo!
Correction: The app “Mr Ahah” mentioned above is actually called “Mr.AahH!!”
Scott… PLEASE can you get the app names right when you review them? It is kinda like an Easter Egg hunt, trying to find the apps you guys review, especially when the iTunes search is not very helpful.
Thanks!
Mark
Scott and/or Eric, do you know what song Patrick plays during the intro to this episode’s segment of “What the French?”
Turns out, there’s an app for that! I forgot that I could use Shazam and it ended up giving me the answer. The song is Fleur De Saison by Emille Simon. http://www.amazon.com/Fleur-de-Saison/dp/B0015T46P0
Thanks again for another great show!
Very odd – can’t find Mr Ahah on the UK store…
Great review of the Tom Tom.
Not sure if the Text 2 Speech thing is such a big deal for me. If I’m driving somewhere I don’t know the streets – I don’t want to be looking for street names. Counting the number of turns is much easier and lets me focus more on driving.
Do “normal” Tom Toms have T2S ? My current GPS doesn’t have it and I’ve never even thought about it. Knowing to take the 3rd Right in 300 metres is plenty.
Great show.
Eric goes both ways…
I am soo glad I found this podcast it is the best thing since I first listened to ELR and the Instance…it is the trifecta that completes podcasting, Scott Johnson is my personal hero and mentor to all things geek. And now I’m downloading apps like crazy and probably will have to upgrade to 32gb itouch or figure out how to cut down on my music to fill it with all these apps. As a soldier who cannot be parted with his gadgets to pass the endless boredom that is a deployment, Scott’s podcasts are a godsend to kill the time.
P.S. I can’t find the “Mr Ahah” app anywhere and your review sold me on it, then I proceeded on a google research binge looking for this elusive app for the better part of an hour. Please advise, over.

Monster Pinball is great. Much better then wild west pinball. Then again I don’t like Wild West Pinball because of how the camera follows the ball. By the time the ball gets to the bottom of the pinball stage the ball itself is out of the camera view. Monster Pinball gets around that by making the screen the entire stage and you can go from stage to stage. My only gripe is that I wish the boards were better as a stand alone stage and you can choose which stage which to play in some sort of select mode, but keep the travel mode where you can go from stage to stage
PS
Also a great flickr upload program is Flickit . I think it was free also. Check it out. I’ve been using m.flickr.com for my iPhone flicker interface. granted it isn’t the best, but it is def. worth checking out.
Guys it’s not just the app. Eric’s description of the Tom Tom app is exactly the same as on their standalone GPS units. POI’s stink, no recorded street names, you have to pay for traffic and no recalculating notifications.
LOL Pooped in the Beans! Classic
So is Frogger ever going to be $0.99?? I’ve been checking since the show came out and haven’t seen it drop. Keep up the great show. I enjoy listening.
Guys, I disagree that $5 is too much for the Scrabble game. I’d rather pay $5 for a really well done game like Scrabble than .99 for some of the worthless stuff on the Apps Store. Love the show though. Keep the reviews coming.
thanks for the great review of the Tom Tom app Eric. I don’t thin I actually need it, but it sounds like it might be worth my cash if I am ever in the market for one.
Thanks to you I am now addicted to Distant Shore. I’ve found several bottles with appslappy in them. But, could you please encourage listeners to be more creative. It is sooooo disappointing to get a bottle that says “what is your name?” or “Where are you?”
What was the sports app that Eric mentioned? it sounded like “Sports Tab”, I searched for that and couldn’t find it.
The problem about being creative in Distant Shore is that you have to type stuff in on that tiny little portrait-mode keyboard. They don’t even offer a landscape keyboard option.
So the best way to be creative is to use Evernote or Notes + copy and paste to compose notes on your computer then copy and paste them on your iPhone or iPod Touch?
?or else jailbreak with Blackra1n, install Cydia or Rock, then install Veency and use a VNC application to connect to your device from your desktop. You can open Distant Shore and type right into the notes from your computer.
Flicker is really great when sharing photos over friends and families. I love the resize feature of Flickr.’”‘
