Great show guys!!!
Thank god there’s a new Facebook app, the current one is terrible! You miss the things you want to keep up on and you can’t reply, edit or delete things. It crashes all the time when viewing photos and on and on…
App approval time varies from a day to the almost month it took for that last Tweetie update. There’s no standard time.
The iPhone on flickr is no surprise, myself and a lot of the serious to pro photographers I follow abandoned it a long time ago. They just don’t offer the kind of services needed for most. The ones who still use it usually host their own site or blog as well.
Twitterrific??? Haha, okay there Scott. No viewing of followers or followees, threaded conversation viewing takes forever to load, doesn’t view photos full screen like tweetie or twitterfon. Try viewing one of your twitvid links, you’ll get an error every time, it’ll still play but annoying. When viewing someone’s profile and then their recent tweets, it’s often outdated and only shows a small portion. It has so many issues which is why it’s last reinvention didn’t overtake Tweetie. Since you love Twitvid so much why not Twitterfon Pro? Has twitvid integrated, iChat style DM and Conversation view as well as the view more tweets that you were complaining about. Sounds like you’d like it. I think Twitterrific is pretty but they need a lot of work to be a top paid app again. Better customer response too, they never answered my email.
Gpush does not work! Save your dollar. I got one push the day it came out and since then nada. Take a look at the iTunes reviews, you’ll see how horrid it is. It also doesn’t take you to the email message itself, it just lets you know you have one.
Disregard my twitterrific comments, the update just dropped and they pretty much fixed all my gripes. We’ll see how well it does against the tweetie update in a few weeks.
Where are those background winners?
Well the new twitterrific doesn’t include your tweet (description) with video uploads, it sticks in some generic “view my video” on the twitvid site, unlike Twitterfon which attaches the tweet as the description as does the twitvid app as well. It only played audio on two of my test uploads as well. They also when viewing someone’s profile and then their recent tweets did not include the load more option. So, some improvements but not enough to pull me back.
dude! Romote Pro has a trackpad AND shake the phone for a fantastic keyboard. includes button locks so you can perform Cmd+W to close windows etc. tons of app remotes. works great.
Right… I want to see the bacon one.
Wow, I listened one day too late (Aug 20th) and both Mevo and Convertbot increased from free to 99 cents. I have a hypothesis that the App developers are good business people and may increase their prices after you recommend them. Keep reviewing, though. I love the show!
Also looking for the background winners
Love the show.
Really want to see those backgrounds. They sound great.
Haha, I didn’t think Eric would mention me on the show. Thanks Eric. Glad you found BeeJiveIM 3.0 as awesome as I did. BeeJiveIM 2.0 [without push notification] was $15.99 on the iTunes AppStore once upon a time. So $9.99 is a significant decrease in price as to what it used to be and it comes with more useful features!
Still running strong on BeeJiveIM 3.0 with Jabber, AIM, and Facebook connected.
Although I did notice that Facebook is implementing an anti-phishing firewall of some sort that may be blocking certain client log-ins. So I constantly have to relog into Facebook through my browser which is kind of annoying but not an issue with the BeeJiveIM App.
Still love the show, stay awesome guys!
In response to the most expensive application on iTunes, MyAccountsToGo – Dynamics GP is currently for sale for $449.99.
Love the listening to your podcast/
Hi I was just listening to the show and I keep hearing about what the most expensive app is and I just wanted to give u guys my best answer. The most expensive app is iRa pro at 900. It is a surveilence system. The number 2 app is MATG-SAP BuisnessOne at 449.99 (the rest u can get at http://gizmodo.com/5335902/the-10-most-expensive-iphone-apps)
Scott, is there an app that helps you post SHOW NOTES!!!!????!??!?!? Helloooooo?!???!
Where are those background winners?
Since Eric took one for the listeners and put down $100 on the TomTom App. Perhaps he can plunk down another $2 and get Roadee (www.roadee.net) and compare it with the TomTom App.
I would like to see the background winners…
P.S. Love the show! Keep it up!
i heard u guys talking about the most expensive app, its actually called IRA PRO, and its 899.99. :O i love the show guys keep up the good work,
spencer bailey
Wahoo! I made it onto this podcast…so it has to be the best yet
Love the show. I want the “guts” background!
Keep it up!
Hey, Lov….like – no its ok I can say it – Love the show. Where are the back-ground pictures. You two said that you wouldn’t forget to post stuff you said you would post on the show! WTF (not French)!
Hi!
I was intrigued by the adaptive streaming radio app. Wasn’t its name Pandora?
I couldn’t find any like it in the Swedish (european?) iTunes.
Keep up the good W // Martin
Listening to show 12 today (08/25/09). Azkend went back up to $4.99… that sucks! Do you have the power to tell them to keep the price for like a week.
Thanks, really like the show!
Regarding the Beejive IM, has anybody tried Nimbuzz?
I have a 1st Gen iPod Touch, and currently, from my experience, it’s the only app which will let me talk through Skype with an external mic.
It’s free, so I think People should give it a whirl. It even shows the service’s icon your contact is logged through.
P.S. Scott and Eric, a small nitpicking: ICQ isn’t solely web based (as in only having a web UI)
Hi Scott
You talked about that Twitterrific only loaded the last 100 twitt.. if you go to setings you can change that to 200
It only works if the receiver has the software too… i don’t like that… whatta waste!
Where is the wallpapers that won the contest?
